Revamp of a natural pond at a farm house in Little Hadham . Weeds were cleared around the pond and the banks were reshaped , old oak beams were placed around the top edge to make grass cutting easier . Some river birch and cornus midwinter fire were then planted round one end of the pond.
This fantastic koi pond was built from scratch on a reinforced concrete base using 9″ concrete blocks laid flat for the walls and then faced with brick work to match the house . The internal walls were then rendered and finally fibreglassed . The pond was about 750mm above the ground with 750mm being in the ground to give an overall depth of 1.5 meters . The whole structure was 4 meters wide and 8 meters long which included the pump and filtration unit built in brick at the end of the pond.
